ORGANIC | ECO-FRIENDLY | ONE-OF-A-KIND
What I admire most about this company is their fortitute for being and remaining eco-friendly. Their unwavering responsibility towards the environment is brilliant.
So just who is Rotsen Furniture?
Rotsen furniture is a US company that was formed in 2005 with the helm of the 3R’s (recycle + reuse + reduce) at the forefront of their venture. Rotsen creates furniture that will stand the test of time and is a natural work of art to admire. In a world of finite resources, choosing even a single piece of Rotsen Furniture is an alternative to buying and replacing a succession of mass-produced pieces destined for the landfill.
“THE BEAUTY OF NATURE CAPTURED IN DESIGN”
Each piece is unique with its own fashionable flaw and character and that’s what makes Rotsen Furniture pieces so indistinguishible. Instantly recognizable, their work can be found as accent pieces in high-end hotels and cherished in residential settings alike.
Each piece of furniture is hand-crafted and strikingly modern in its design. Rotsen combines various wood from decaying bridges, old barns, and demolished structures; materials harvested from fallen and well-preserved trees, from sustainable plantations and well-managed forests with metal, glass and plexiglass to create furniture that is luxurious, distinct and unforgettable.
The warm, natural forms, influenced by the earth’s natural materials are sensuously organic.
Denis Lacerda, founder of Rotsen Furniture says:” High end hotels and domestic customer throughout the world have chosen to own and cherish our furniture. We are proud to have won friends and admirers from across the globe and are delighted to be able to take part in the exciting international discovery of the best in interior design.”
In Denis’ own words:“Using local products is part of the equation….but that’s not all. Maintaining our goal of being eco-friendly comes naturally. When we started Rotsen, it was a condition in my family that we would not become something that we had always criticized. …I spent some time in the Brazilian Amazon and saw the disappointment with the number of farms and ranches in the region. It was kind of shocking to see it! Hence, the initial idea of working with materials salvaged from the demolition sites. Then came the process of using fallen trees. Once the company grew….we partnered with FSC certified suppliers from Costa Rica and also started using Walnut, from the West Coast. We were able to decrease footprint related to transportation.”
As Rotsen Furniture began to grow so did its need to simplify the manufacturing and distribution process. Due to market demands, along came a small manufacturing facility in Miami. Almost half of their products sold in the US market are produced in Miami with local workers and, in part, with domestic materials.
